270 Zakayo Balls & 64 sets of jerseys to be given to FUFA TV Cup participating teams

The third edition of the FUFA TV Cup has been launched to reveal FUFA support towards participating teams.

270 Zakayo Balls was confirmed to be given to 54 participating teams with each team receiving 5 species.

FUFA will further rewards two sets of jerseys to each the teams that will progress to round 32 of the competition.

Speaking to the media at a press briefing held at FUFA Complex on July 9th, organizing committee chairman Dr Apollo Ahimbisibwe revealed.

“Since we are organizing a football competition we are announcing to give out 5 Zakayo balls to each team, Furtherly we are giving two sets of Jerseys to each team that will reach the round of 32, it is a change from last season where we gave out the Jerseys before the kickoff of the championship, this time we are giving them at round of 32 to make the opening round competitive” Dr Ahimbisibwe remarked.

Last season, the FUFA TV cup invited 65 teams which is reduced to 54 this year.

The Competition brought to existence in 2023 with aims for excellence both on pitch and academically.

Over the past two seasons the heights reached is making visibility with two players joining topflight teams while three excelling in academia enabling to join Universities on Government support.

Following the successful opening two seasons, the third season will start on Sunday July 13th in Kisubi as St Mary’s College Kisubi hosting Ndejje Senior Secondary Schools.

The competition is played on Home and Away knockout basis with each team hosting the fixtures as at early stages the competition getting played in regional zoning.
