The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is a 32-team tournament running from June 14 to July 13, 2025, hosted across 12 venues in the United States.
Itโs the first edition of the expanded format, held every four years, featuring top clubs from each continent. The final will be at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
The winning team of the Club World Cup will be able to wear a patch on their uniform for 4 years. Previously, the competition was annual, so the patch could only be kept for 12 years.
But now there is a new format and, therefore, a new and longer-lasting patch.
FIFA has developed an unusual trophy in partnership with luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co. The cup is round and can have two shapes. Initially it looks like a shield, but it has a key that can open rings.
Inside these rings there are various elements and inscriptions. The phrases are written in 13 languages. And there is a mix of football and astronomy images.
Overall, the idea is to mix the globe and a soccer ball, representing the idea of a global sports competition.
It is also worth highlighting that the central disc already contains the names of all the clubs participating in the 2025 edition.
After that, wins, draws and rankings will earn you more cash prizes:
Group stage win: $2M
Group stage draw: $1M
Round of 16: $7.5M.
Quarterfinals: $13.125M
Semifinals: $21M
Runner-up: $30M
Champion: $40M
The Club World Cup is full of players who have already won the World Cup for national teams.
There are 26 in total:
2 Spanish champions in South Africa in 2010.
2 Germans, champions in Brazil in 2014.
9 French champions in Russia in 2018.
13 Argentines champions in Qatar in 2022.
The oldest player in the Club World Cup is Brazilian: Fluminense goalkeeper Fรกbio Deivson Lopes Maciel is 44 years old. He is 5 years older than Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany.
Urawa Red Diamonds midfielder Takeshi Wada turned 16 last week and is the youngest player in the tournament.
Fluminense also has the tallest and shortest players in the tournament. Gustavo Ramalho, the reserve goalkeeper, is 2.01 meters tall.
Yeferson Soteldo is the shortest, at 1.60m. There is a 41 centimetre difference between his two teammates.

Brazil has only four teams in the competition, but it is still the country with the most players in the World Cup among all clubs.

The Club World Cup , which will be played in the United States, will have a new feature before the ball starts rolling. The players will enter the field in an unusual style for football.
Players will enter the field one by one. An announcer will announce each athlete. Finally, the captain of each team will be the player to enter the field.
The model is seen in the NBA and other sports popular among Americans. Initially, this style will be adopted in all games of the 1st round.
There will be INTERVIEWS DURING HALFTIMES of the 2025 Club World Cup matches. The coach and one player must speak according to REGULATIONS.
Mamelodi Sundowns is the only club from Africaโs four reps going to the Club World Cup tournament in the USA that meets FIFA’s criteria regarding numbers and interactions on social media, compared to Al Ahly, Esperance and Wydad.
